Made in USA Holiday Gift Guide

By Kyle Rancourt

I curated a small selection of my favorite American-made goods that I use almost every day and are perfect for gift giving this holiday season.

First up, the merino wool apparel I live in.

Pinebury Merino Wool Performance Tees

Lightweight merino wool tees with Nuyarn technology. They're lighter, warmer, and more durable than conventional merino. These are the perfect layering pieces and travel shirts. The anti-microbial properties means they only need occasional washing and won't stink.

Pinebury Merino Wool Socks

Merino wool socks for all seasons. The Mountain Sock is a particularly great choice for gift giving; thick, comfy, warm, and durable. A great gift for anyone on your list.

American Trench Wool Fleece Vest

This is a newly acquired piece that I've been wearing non-stop. It's an excellent layering piece for cold weather. On cool days I wear it over the Greenwood LS Merino Tee and on the coldest day I wear it under a parka. It's incredibly comfortable and made from real merino wool fleece. 99% of fleece garments in the marketplace are made from some form of plastic, this is the real deal. Also, everything American Trench sells is Made in USA.

Rancourt & Co. Handsewn Slippers

These lamsbwool shearling-lined slippers are heirloom quality. They're extremely warm, exceptionally durable, and incredibly handsome. There isn't a better pair of slippers in the world and these are handmade right here in Maine. Although they're meant for indoor use they have a double leather bottom so you don't have to worry about them wearing out.

Campfire Pottery Classic Mug

Beautiful handmade pottery made right here in Portland, ME. This is a small family company that absolutely nails the minimalist design aesthetic. We've been slowly filling our cabinets with their pieces over the years and couldn't be happier with the form and function.

Cedaero Search Pack

I've been using Cedaero's bags for a while now, they're well-made, handsome, and I love the natural materials available in the waxed cotton canvas versions. I love the ethos of the brand and the little cyclists haven they built up on the hill in Two Harbors, MN.
